Flu Vaccinations

💉💉💉 Flu Vaccinations 💉💉💉
Are you eligible for the flu vaccination this year? If so, the practice will contact you via SMS in the first instance with a booking link to book your appointment. The practice will be offering pre-bookable and walk in clinics for the flu vaccine this year. If you haven’t received a text to invite you by 15 September 2023 please contact the practice either on Ask My GP https://my.askmygp.uk/?c=P92026 between 7:30 – 10:30am weekdays or call 01942 807750 and an appointment can be arranged for you.
To be eligible for the flu injection you must fit at least one of the below criteria:
• Those aged 65 years and over
• Those aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups **
• Pregnant women
• Those in long-stay residential care homes
• Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
• Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
• Frontline workers in a social care setting
Please note Parents/Guardians with children aged 2-3 years will be contacted separately for the nasal flu. Primary school aged children (from Reception to Year 6 – vaccines administered via Intra Health at school. (Year 7 vaccinations will be dependent on vaccine availability)

**At Risk Groups are patients with any of the following:-

  • Chronic (long-term) respiratory disease, such as severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or bronchitis
  • chronic heart disease, such as heart failure
  • chronic kidney disease at stage three, four or five
  • chronic liver disease
  • chronic neurological disease, such as Parkinson’s disease or motor neurone disease,
  • learning disability
  • diabetes
  • splenic dysfunction or asplenia
  • a weakened immune system due to disease
  • morbidly obese
